Interreg V-A Romania - Bulgaria

Romania-Bulgaria Interreg V-A aims to expand the horizons of the region to achieve concrete and measurable results and allow the area to become a region where you can live, study, work, visit and invest. The program supports the creation of sustainable and competitive communities by using a resource effectiveness, promoting profitable initiatives and opportunities offered by the development of transversal and horizontal flow in the Danube/Black Sea corridor.

Interreg-V-A-Romania-Bulgaria

Beneficiaries: County Councils / District Administrations, local councils / municipalities, associations of local government, chambers of commerce / associations of SMEs, educational institutions (schools, universities etc), ministries and their departments of local / regional non-profit research institutions, other NGOs working in the fields financed by the program, EGTC.

The program strategy is based on the following thematic objectives

Priority Axis 1: A region well connected

- Thematic Objective 7: Promoting sustainable transport and removing bottlenecks in network infrastructures
- Investment Prioritie 7B: enhancing regional mobility through connecting secondary and tertiary nodes to TEN-T infrastructure, including multimodal hubs.
- Investment Prioritie 7.c: Developing and improving transport systems that respect the environment, including those with low noise and have low carbon emissions, including inland waterways and maritine shipping systems, multimodal connections and airport infrastructure in order to promote sustainable mobility at regional and local level.

Priority Axis 2: A green region

- Thematic Objective 6: Conservation and protection of the environment and promoting resource efficiency
- Investment Prioritie 6.c: preserving, protecting, promoting and developing natural and cultural heritage
- Investment Prioritie 6.d: Protecting and restoring biodiversity and soil and promoting ecosystem services, including Natura 2000 and green infrastructure

Priority Axis 3: A safe region

- Thematic Objective 5: Promoting climate change adaptation, risk prevention and management
- Investment Prioritie 5.b: Promoting investments to address specific risks, ensuring disaster resilience and developing disaster management systems.

Priority Axis 4: A capable and inclusive region

- Thematic Objective 8: Promoting sustainability and quality of jobs and supporting labor mobility
- Investment Prioritie 8.i: Promoting sustainability and quality of jobs and supporting labor mobility by integrating cross-border labor markets, including cross-border mobility, joint local initiatives in the field of employment, information and advisory services and joint training.

Priority Axis 5: An effective region

- Thematic Objective 11: Strengthening institutional capacity of public authorities and stakeholders and an efficient public administration through actions aimed at developing institutional capacity and efficiency of administrations and public services concerned by the implementation of ERDF and through supporting the actions of the ESF to strengthen institutional capacity and the public administration efficiency
